Figure and Portrait Painting is a 4 week online course. Classes will be every Tuesday starting July 7 to July 28, 2026.
The human figure is a good subject to practice breaking an image down into underlying structures and building it up with simple shapes before rendering light/shadow. We will explore a range of painting techniques and explore colour theory, glazing, and working with under-paintings. My demonstrations will be done using acrylic paint.
Dates: Tuesdays, July 7 to July 28, 2026 (4 weeks)
Time: 6:00 to 9:00 pm (PT)
Location: Online via Zoom
There is a website for each course where I will share:
links to the recording for each class (in case you can’t attend the live session),
demo images,
and homework assignments.
Students will upload their work for in class feedback through a shared Dropbox folder.
